IMPORTANT NOTICE: SUSPENSION OF FUNDING FOR SENIOR PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION
In accordance with Senate Bill 10-190, signed into law on May 27, 2010; the senior property tax exemption has been suspended for tax years 2010 & 2011 (payable in 2011 & 2012). This program may be reviewed again during the 2012 legislative session to determine the status for the 2012 tax year (payable in 2013). If you have additional questions regarding this issue, please contact the Assessor’s Office. The senior property tax exemption amount is 50 percent of the first two hundred thousand dollars of actual value.
The application must be filed by July 15 of the year for which exemption is requested. Filing will be considered timely if the application is postmarked no later than July 15.
